Mikal Bridges’ steal sealed the deal in Boston, with the Knicks winning Game 1 of the Easter semis, 108-105. We could say that the NYK won due to the Celtics’ poor three-point shooting, yet it really wasn’t all like that.
Brunson and OG Anynoby had 29 points each, with the latter hitting six threes. Karl-Anthony Towns scored 14 points and grabbed 13 boards, while Josh Hart had 14 points too, only 11 boards. Bridges ended the night with 8 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds. He had 3 steals as well.
The Celtics eat one hard kick in the teeth. Maybe this is what Mazzulla’s team needed to pull itself together and regroup. They relied upon three-point shooting way too much, hitting 15 but missing 45 shots behind the arc. Jaylen Brown was 1-for-10, and Tatum was 4-for-15.
