Nuggets vs. Timberwolves Preseason Preview, Head to Head, Predictions, Picks (Oct 17)

By · Updated 7 months ago
  • Nuggets vs. Timberwolves is a replay of the last year’s West semis.
  • Jokic and the boys haven’t won a single game during the preseason.
  • The T-Wolves have two triumphs and a loss.

Nikola Jokic and his Nuggets are terrible in the preseason. Yes, this doesn’t have to mean anything when the regular campaign starts, but it’s still demoralizing for the fans. Meanwhile, the Wolves have injured players and still haven’t seen Julius Randle at full speed.

Match Preview

The latest of the Nuggets’ losses was at home to the Oklahoma City Thunder. And it wasn’t just a loss, but a humiliation, 124-94. Yes, nobody of big names (but MPJ and Gordon) played, but the final result was unacceptable.

Porter Jr. scored 15 points, Trey Alexander 12, and Gordon 11. Denver’s defense wasn’t present at all, as the hosts allowed the rivals to shoot 50% from the field.

Minnesota is 2-1, and after back-to-back wins, they lost to the Knicks in New York, 115-110. It was their first meeting with Karl-Anthony Towns following a trade.

Ant had 31 points, 11-for-19 from the field, but apart from DiVincenzo and Reid, who each had 15, there weren’t too many players able to help. Julius Randle didn’t appear, either, as did Mike Conley.

Nuggets vs. Timberwolves Head-to-Head

The last time we saw these two was in Game 7 of the West semis, when the T-Wolves beat the Nuggets. It was 4-3 for Ant and the boys in that series.

Nuggets vs. Timberwolves Prediction

We will be swift here. There’s no way we’re suggesting anything but Minnesota’s win here. Why? They look much better than the Nuggets, who simply can’t find their groove with or without Jokic on the floor. So, it’s T-Wolves to triumph.
