Game Preview

The No. 10 Cavaliers (29-4, 15-3 ACC) have strongly performed as one of the best ACC squads. They enjoyed a bye to the quarterfinal round, taking down NC State and Miami to reach the title round of the conference tournament. Four players scored in double figures for Virginia in the semifinal win over the Hurricanes. Malik Thomas led the way (16 points), as he secured a crucial offensive rebound and made two free throws in the final 15 seconds. Thijs De Ridder came next with 15 points, while Jacari White had 13 points and Sam Lewis provided 12 points.

The No. 1 Blue Devils (31-2, 17-1 ACC) have their huge goal of getting to the national championship game, looking to dominate in the ACC Tournament to prove their case. Getting an automatic bye to the quarterfinals, they survived against Florida State and dealt with Clemson to get to the championship game. Cameron Boozer posted game-highs of 24 points, 14 rebounds and five assists in the win over the Tigers. He posted his 19th total double-double and 12th with at least 20 points, including three straight games. His brother, Cayden, scored a career-high 16 points, while Nikolas Khamenia matched his career high with 14 points that included him making three 3-pointers.

Virginia vs Duke Head-to-Head

The two programs have had 181 meetings in their history, and the result is 127-54 for the Blue Devils. The last matchup was in February 2025 when Duke won 80-62 on the road.

Virginia vs Duke Predictions

The Blue Devils have proven themselves to be immense trouble for any team to deal with, even the best in the country. The Cavaliers have showcased their ability to compete as one of the best in the conference but will have to dig deep with big performances from their star players to make this game a challenge for last year’s Final Four participants. Our betting pick here is the Blue Devils to defend a 7.5-point spread.
