Game Preview

The No. 16 Crimson Tide (22-7, 12-4 SEC) have gained serious momentum as they near the end of conference play. Starting 7-4 in its first SEC matchups, Alabama came alive with eight straight wins, the most recent being against Mississippi State and Tennessee. Latrell Wrightsell Jr. has been named the Southeastern Conference Co-Player of the Week. He averaged 21.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in Alabama’s two wins over the Bulldogs and Volunteers.

Having begun the year 12-1 at one point, the Bulldogs (20-9, 8-8 SEC) took a step back in SEC play as they sit in the middle of the pack of the conference standings. They lead all 365 Division I programs in both fastbreak points (20.3 ppg) and blocks (6.4 bpg) and also were ranked among the top-10 nationally in scoring (No. 6 at 89.7 ppg) and bench points (No. 7 at 34.6 ppg). Jeremiah Wilkinson is averaging a team-high 17.7 ppg, while Blue Cain is contributing 13.5 ppg, Marcus “Smurf” Millender is chipping in 11.8 ppg and Kanon Catchings is adding 10.6 ppg.

Alabama vs Georgia Head-to-Head

The two programs have had 155 meetings in their history, and the result is 101-54 for the Crimson Tide. The last matchup was in February 2025 when Alabama won 90-69 at home.

Alabama vs Georgia Predictions

Both SEC schools share a lot of history together, enjoying their battles at the football and basketball levels. This season has seen Alabama fight through the ups and downs as one of the best squads in the country while Georgia’s explosive offense can put opposing defenses on their heels. While that will trouble Alabama at times, they possess the defense that can contain the Bulldogs in key stretches of the game. Our betting pick here is the Crimson Tide to defend a 1.5-point spread.
