Game Preview
The No. 20 Tigers (20-5, 10-2 ACC) might be starting to lose their edge following recent losses in conference play, suffering upset losses to NC State and Virginia Tech. They remain near the top of the conference standings but will need to overcome Duke to have a chance at the ACC regular season title. They began February with wins over Stanford and California but lost their last matchup against Virginia Tech.
The Tigers are second in the league and 12th nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 64.6 points per game. RJ Godfrey leads the team with averages of 11.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game on 64.9% shooting from the field. Meanwhile, Dillon Hunter could play a vital role with his playmaking, producing 7.8 points, four rebounds and 3.1 assists per contest.
The No. 4 Blue Devils (22-2, 11-1 ACC) have been overwhelming for opponents to deal with, dominating as a fierce contender for the national championship. Duke has been very familiar with racking up victories over teams inside the AP Top 25 Poll, beating the likes of No. 7 Michigan State, No. 15 Florida, No. 20 Louisville (twice), No. 22 Arkansas, No. 24 SMU and No. 25 Kansas.
Duke ranks inside the top 10 of the country in both offensive efficiency (125.6, 9th) and defensive efficiency (89.9, 3rd). They also rank sixth in the nation and first in the ACC in scoring defense (63.5 ppg). Cameron Boozer stands out as the nation’s sixth-best scorer with an ACC-high 23.0 points per game and tops the ACC in rebounding (10.0 rpg).
Clemson vs Duke Head-to-Head
The two programs have had 149 meetings in their history, and the result is 115-34 for the Blue Devils. The last matchup was in February 2025 when Clemson secured a 77-71 win at home.
Clemson vs Duke Predictions
Clemson has the ability to make noise in this matchup against Duke. The Tigers handed the Blue Devils their only conference loss last season, showing that this matchup is easier said than done for the hosts. However, the Tigers’ inconsistency of beating unranked squads leaves them vulnerable to mistakes they make against ranked sides, especially when it comes to Duke’s quality. Our betting pick here is for the Blue Devils to defend a 13-point spread.
