Game Preview
The No. 4 Cyclones (23-4, 10-4 Big 12) suffered a minor setback, losing in a ranked upset to the BYU Cougars. Despite the defeat, Iowa State remains firm within the top five of the AP Top 25. Milan Momcilovic continues to shine as the top scorer, recording six 25-plus point games so far this season. He also leads the country in 3-point percentage, making his triples on a 50.8% clip. Meanwhile, Joshua Jefferson looks to be active on the court, producing 16.4 points and 7.6 rebounds per contest.
Conference play continues to be tough on the Utes (10-17, 2-12 Big 12), losing seven of their last eight Big 12 games this season. They perform well at home with an 8-7 record, but their quality of play will keep getting put to the test by the formidable Cyclones unit. Terrence Brown mans the squad with 20.2 points, 3.8 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.5 steals as the leading scorer for the Utes. On another note, Don McHenry is second on the squad with 17.4 points per game and Keanu Dawes remains a double-double threat with 12.6 points and a team-high 9.2 rebounds per contest.
Iowa State vs Utah Head-to-Head
The two programs have had four meetings in their history, and the result is 2-2 for the two sides. The last matchup was in January 2025 when Iowa State won 82-59 on the road.
Iowa State vs Utah Predictions
This game will already be difficult for Utah despite being the hosts. The Utes’ inability to rack up wins in conference play has pushed them down to the bottom of the Big 12 standings, suffering a down year as next year will hope for brighter days. They will hope to compete early on against Iowa State, but once the Cyclones’ star players get it going, this duel won’t be close as the night progresses. Our betting pick here is the Cyclones to defend a 14.5-point spread.
