Game Preview
The Eagles (21-15, 8-10 Sun Belt) seek their first conference title as they take part in their second Sun Belt Championship Game. It marks the first title game since the Eagles joined the league in 2014-15. They became just the third team in NCAA history to win five games on consecutive days, joining NC State in 2024, and UConn in 2011. Spudd Webb collected 31 points on 8-of-14 shooting to lead Georgia Southern to an 82-78 win over Marshall in the semifinals.
The Trojans (21-11, 12-6 Sun Belt) return to the Sun Belt championship game for the second straight season. The last team to play in two consecutive SBC title games was Louisiana across the 2022-23 tournaments. They have now won four-straight Sun Belt Tournament games, after winning three last season en route to the school’s second Sun Belt Championship title. Jerrell Bellamy led the way for Troy in the 78-70 win over Southern Miss in the semifinals, putting up 22 points, six blocks and three steals.
