Game Preview

The Green Wave (15-10, 6-6 American) will hope to end conference play on a positive note throughout the remaining weeks of the regular season. They are coming off back-to-back wins over Temple and UAB, surviving the latter by one point on the road. Rowan Brumbaugh looks to make a big impact in this road duel against North Texas. He leads the Green Wave with averages of 22 points per game on 52.2 percent shooting from the floor and 44.4 percent from three so far this season.

The Mean Green (15-11, 6-7 American) have been inconsistent throughout the course of league play, but recently turned a corner. They have won their last three games over UTSA, Memphis and Temple. North Texas shines bright on defense as the conference leader in scoring defense (66.2), steals (9.9), and turnovers forced per game (15.81). Meanwhile, Je’shawn Stevenson and David Terrell Jr. highlight the squad’s attack as their scoring duo. Stevenson ranks fifth in the league with 16.7 points per game while Terrell posts 12.7 points per contest.

Tulane vs North Texas Head-to-Head

The two programs have had seven meetings in their history, and the result is 5-2 for the Mean Green. The last matchup was in January this year when North Texas won 71-63 at home.

Tulane vs North Texas Predictions

The Green Wave will be busy finding holes in the stout Mean Green defense. North Texas has done a solid job protecting its homecourt as one of the best defensive squads in the country. However, they are vulnerable to their own duds at home, which could allow Tulane to start the night strong and take control early on. Our betting pick here is the Green Wave to cover a 6.5-point spread.
