Game Preview

The Knights (20-9, 9-8 Big 12) find themselves in the middle of the conference standings, losing their last two matchups against Baylor and Oklahoma State. UCF is 9-1 in games where the Knights shoot at or better than the Division 1 game averages for field goals made (27), field goals attempted (59), and field goal percentage (45.3%). Defense has been a defining strength for UCF, while holding its opponents under 80 points, with an 13-2 record in those matches. Riley Kugel leads the attack with averages of 14.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Jamichael Stillwell presents himself as a double-double threat with 11.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest.

The Mountaineers (17-13, 8-9 Big 12) are also in the middle of the Big 12 standings, trailing BYU and UCF in the tournament picture. With a victory against the Knights, WVU will finish either seventh or eighth in the Big 12 standings, as opposed to ninth or 10th with a loss. Honor Huff is the most explosive scorer on the team with his perimeter shooting, averaging 15.5 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest that includes 102 triples made on a 35.7% clip.

UCF vs West Virginia Head-to-Head

The two programs have had five meetings in their history, and the result is 4-1 for the Mountaineers. The last matchup was in February this year when West Virginia won 74-67 on the road.

UCF vs West Virginia Predictions

UCF will have a lot of difficulty keeping Honor Huff off the 3-point line. He has helped West Virginia be a solid squad in the conference, giving them a chance to make a run in the Big 12 Tournament. And considering the homecourt advantage the Mountaineers have, they will look to end their home slate on a strong note. Our betting pick here is the Mountaineers to defend a 4-point spread.
