Game Preview

The Huskies (22-2, 12-1 Big East) dominated the country throughout the season with 18 consecutive wins. However, they lost 81-72 to a solid ranked St. John’s squad on Feb. 6. It marked their first loss in conference play this season, showing how they have excelled as one of the top squads in the country before falling in an upset to the Red Storm. Their only other loss? The Arizona Wildcats.

UConn boasts a lethal attack with all five starters scoring in double figures per game. Solo Ball and Tarris Reed Jr. lead the offense with a team-high 14.0 points per game each, while Silas Demary Jr. has been a star playmaker with 6.1 assists per contest. On another note, the Huskies have been suffocating on the defensive side of the ball, holding teams to under 40% shooting from the field and under 30% from downtown.

The Bulldogs (13-11, 4-9 Big East) have suffered a free fall after enjoying a 9-2 start to the season. They have lost nine of their last 13 games, severely struggling on the road with a 1-9 display. While they have performed decently at home with a 9-4 record to show for it, their quality of play will be under pressure when the Huskies step onto the court.

Finley Bizjack and Michael Ajayi stand out as the undisputed best scorers on the Butler squad. Bizjack leads the way with averages of 17.9 points, 2.3 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game, having made a team-high 60 3-pointers on 36.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, Ajayi shines as a double-double threat with 15.8 points, 11.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists per contest.

UConn vs Butler Head-to-Head

The two programs have had 12 meetings in their history, and the result is 12-0 for the Huskies. The last matchup was in December 2025 when UConn secured a 79-60 win on the road.

UConn vs Butler Predictions

As the all-time record shows, the Huskies boast a massive advantage over their conference foe. Even with this matchup being on Butler’s homecourt, it’s clear that it will take a lot for the hosts to keep the game close and end a losing streak against an elite team looking to get back on the win column. Our betting pick here is the Huskies to defend an 11-point spread.
