Preview

Ole Miss managed to escape a close game against Texas A&M, keeping their CFP hopes alive with just one loss. They didn’t fare well in their defeat to Alabama, but the Rebels have a chance to get redemption for that against Georgia. A win in this game would completely change the CFP picture, with the Rebels leading the 1-loss teams. They need their offense to be absolutely perfect to have a chance of winning at Georgia.

Georgia picked up a top-15 win last week over Missouri, proving to the committee that they can beat top opponents when given the chance. They remained ranked behind Ohio State, but could jump them with a confident win in this game. The Bulldogs are the two-time defending national champions and remain on a 36-game winning streak. Their defense is not quite as elite as years past, providing an area to improve on.

Prediction

Both of these teams are very capable, and deserving of their top-10 rankings. That being said, Georgia remains a league above the rest of their competition. The Rebels’ 24-10 defeat against Alabama was likely a good indicator of how they’ll look in this game, despite their success against other teams. The Bulldogs are the better team and at home, so I see them winning and covering, though I don’t expect a blowout.
