AFC West Preview
Kansas City Chiefs
For the last 9 years, Andy Reid and Mahomes dominated this division. The team didn’t suffer too many changes during this offseason, apart from Justin Reid’s departure. Though Jaden Hicks is there to replace him. But even if there were no replacements, that wouldn’t matter too much, because Mahomes is behind the wheel, and as long as the three-time champ is, the Chiefs are going to be top favorites for the divisional title and the Super Bowl too.
Denver Broncos
Sean Payton finally loosened Bo Nix, and the Broncos had 10 wins last year. All that with a terrible rushing game, which contributed just 7 touchdowns from their running backs. JK Dobbins should improve that, so the Broncos have nowhere to go but up. Will they be capable of challenging the Chiefs? 50-50.
LA Chargers
We personally wouldn’t be surprised to see the Chargers make a deep playoff run, but on the other hand, it wouldn’t be unusual for them to fail to reach the playoffs. Jim Harbaugh made the LAC the strongest defense in the NFL, allowing just 17.7 points per game. Justin Herbert is already a superstar, and with Harbaugh’s defense, this team has solid prospects to attack the AFC West title.
Las Vegas Raiders
Pete Carroll is in town, and this is the start of a new era for the Raiders. The team had 11 picks in this draft, which is a great foundation for the future. Yet not for the present. There’s a lot of work ahead of the Raiders before they become competitive with the remaining teams in the division.
AFC West Predictions
The Chiefs are the favorites, and we have to side with them. It will be the 10th season in a row for KC to win the division, but that’s when you have Mahomes.
