Preview

The Lions won confidently against the Falcons in Week 3, bouncing back from their loss in Week 2. Detroit is now tied in 1st place in the division with the Packers at 2-1, with the other two teams out of contention so far at 0-3. In order to win the division for the first time in 30 years, the Lions need to prove their can take down Green Bay. They will be put to the test this week. Aiden Hutchinson will likely remain dominant.

Green Bay entered the 4th quarter against the Saints trailing 17-0. Their offense struggled against a tough New Orleans defense, but refused to quit. A field goal with 11 minutes remaining made the game 17-3, and then a TD and 2-pt conversion made it 17-11 around the 7-minute mark. Green Bay scored again at around 3 minutes left, and wound up winning the game. They’ll aim to carry that momentum into this week’s game.

Prediction

The Packers went 23-3 against the Lions from 2000 to 2013, fully dominating them as a franchise. Since then, it’s been a lot more even than people would think. They’ve gone just 9-10 against Detroit, and are currently on a 3-game losing streak. With a deteriorating Aaron Rodgers out of the picture, Green Bay is rejuvenated, but the Lions are also improving fast. I expect a very close game, and a home team victory.
