Johnson and Vrabel are Leding the Way
Ben Johnson left the Lions, where he worked as an offensive coordinator, and joined their division rivals, the Chicago Bears. His stock for winning this award immediately skyrocketed because he has a very talented QB, Caleb Williams, and a solid offense. Plus, he knows the division better than anyone.
Vrabel is forming a very good Patriots team, which is expected to be significantly better than last season. He was already the Coach of the Year back in 2021 and knows what it takes to get there. Though we are sure he doesn’t mind this individual award, he prefers his team to win.
Jaguars’ Liam Coen, Raiders’ Pete Carroll, Panthers’ Dave Canales and Chargers’ Jim Harbaugh are all in the next tier.
Harbaugh as Long Shot?
We would point out Harbaugh, whose Chargers look solid and have improved in his first year in charge. After all, with 17.7 points per game, they presented the top defense in this category. So, he has an excellent position before the campaign begins. Just to remind, Harbaugh won this award in 2011.
