Aidan Hutchinson is the top favorite, barely ahead of Micah Parsons and Myles Garrett. The Lions superstar is +500, while the latter two are positioned at +600.
Needless to say, each player is an elite defender and known for their relentless pressure on rival quarterbacks. Hutchinson is coming back following an injury and is in talks for the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award.
Garrett never led the NFL in sacks, the same as Parsons, but he has one NFL DPOY award. Parsons doesn’t have that, yet he was the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.
TJ Watt led the league in sacks three times and holds the record with the legendary Giants’ defender, Michael Strahan, for most sacks in one year, 22.5. He also won the DPOY honors once.
Potential Surprises – Nick Bossa and Will Anderson
Nobody speaks too much about any of the candidates apart from those mentioned above. We would pick out two names – Nick Bossa and Will Anderson.
Bossa was the Defensive Player of the Year in 2022. He is an elite who has had problems with injuries and should be clear of all by now.
Anderson is on the rise, and his numbers in the first two NFL years have been substantially improving. Having in mind that his extension is nearing, we expect from the Texans’ star to go full-speed into this year.
