NFL MVP Race
Lamar Jackson has slightly better odds than his rivals, but the difference is highly irrelevant. It’s because he didn’t win the MVP honors last year, even though he should have. After all, he had a much better season than Josh Allen, but it appears that voters backed up Allen due to his previous years in which he didn’t get the trophy.
Allen and the Bills are under pressure. Their time is running out, and both are getting a LOSER label following all the playoff failures. The team has focused on defense in free agency, and they no longer have a talented receiving corps like they had in the past.
Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow are here as well. The first is because his team is a sort of dynasty, and as long as he plays there, the MVP award will always be an option. Burrow is the face of the Bengals and the guy who practically holds the keys to the team. If they win and go deep, Burrow’s chances to take the MVP award are high.
Darkhorses
Jdayden Daniels had a fantastic rookie season with the Commanders, reaching the NFC Championship game. He posted 25 TDs with 3,568 passing yards and 891 rushing yards. He just might be the next best thing.
Far behind are LA Chargers’ Justin Herbert, the Super Bowl champion, Jalen Hurts, Houston’s CJ Stroud and Packers’ Jordan Love.
However, our favorite dark horse is Detroit Lions’ Jared Goff, who is now +2500 to win the NFL MVP. When considering the overall situation, his Lions have a very good team, he is experienced enough, and there is already solid hype surrounding him.
