They ended their regular season with a record of 9-8 and are currently holding the No. 4 seed in the NFC playoffs. The Detroit Lions picked up a narrow, 24-23 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. They had a fantastic regular season with a record of 12-5 and are currently holding the No. 3 seed.

Baker Mayfield led his Buccaneers to a comprehensive victory over the Eagles, earning himself a $250,000 playoff win bonus. Mayfield threw for 337 yards and three touchdowns, while the Tampa Bay defense held firm to deny Philadelphia a way back into the game. Mayfield, who was the first overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, is playing for his fourth team in less than two years. This was his first playoff appearance since the 2020 season, and he completed 22 out of 36 passes without throwing a single interception. In the first quarter, David Moore caught a 44-yard pass for a touchdown. Later on, rookie Trey Palmer scored a 56-yard touchdown, which put the Bucs ahead 25-9 in the third quarter. Mayfield ended the game with a 23-yard touchdown pass to Chris Godwin.
Jared Goff had much to celebrate as he raised his arms aloft at the end of an enthralling Wild Card round victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Goff threw 22 of 27 completions for 227 and one touchdown, whilst running backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs added a score a-piece on the ground. The Rams moved the ball downfield with ease but once inside the red zone, the Detroit defense was a different animal, forcing Los Angeles to settle for field goals on three occasions and that was the key difference in a tight matchup.
Prediction
It would be a dream come true for either of these teams to make it to the Super Bowl, and it seems like the winner of this game will have the backing of every neutral fan. The Lions are in a good position after their first playoff victory in 32 years, and I believe they can secure another win in this match.
