NFL Week 1: Bengals vs. Browns Preview, Odds, Picks (Sep 7)

By · Updated 7 hours ago
  • Bengals vs. Browns is one of the AFC North rivalries.
  • Cincinnati is a 5.5-point favorite.
  • Joe Flacco starts at the QB position for the Browns.

Even though we expected to see Shedeur Sanders as the starting QB in Cleveland, that didn’t happen. But somehow, we believe Sanders will find his way to the field pretty soon.

Game Preview

The Cincinnati Bengals need to start the season well; otherwise, head coach Zac Taylor might be fired. Over the past few years, Cincinnati has suffered greatly due to its poor season openings and has ultimately failed to reach the playoffs as a result.

The most productive QB-WR duo in the league, Burrow-Chase, is again going to lead the team and be the primary weapon of the Bengals.

Sanders will start the season on the bench, behind Joe Flacco, but the son of an NFL legend most definitely looks ready to replace Flacco. It seems that the franchise wants to gradually introduce him to the entire process before Shedeur replaces the veteran.

The Browns’ defense should be stacked with quality. Apart from Myles Garrett, they now have another beast, the No.5 from this year’s draft, DT Mason Graham.

Bengals vs. Browns Head to Head

The Bengals lead the all-time series, 55-48, and have won four of the last five contests. Last year, Cincinnati won 21-14 in Cleveland and 24-6 at home.

Bengals vs. Browns Predictions

The Bengals’ offensive line isn’t very consistent, and it’s also not that formidable. We expect to see Burrow receiving solid pressure, maybe even taking a beating. We all know the number of sacks he survives each year. The Bengals are favorites, but due to all said, we are picking under 47.5 points.
