NFL Week 1: Panthers vs. Jaguars Preview, Odds, Picks (Sep 7)
- Panthers vs. Jaguars game features two of the possibly worst teams in their respective conferences.
- Carolina Panthers traded WR Adam Thielen to the Vikings.
- Jacksonville Jaguars will have a new HC this year – Liam Coen.
If we all know what’s happening with the Carolina Panthers, then we can’t explain why the Jaguars didn’t win a single game during the preseason. It seems that the upcoming year might be filled with frustration. Again.

Panthers vs. Jaguars Odds
Game Preview
Bryce Young is without Adam Thielen. The experienced WR got traded, and to be honest, if we don’t see some improvement from Young, we can expect him to be benched this season, and possibly traded as well.
No matter their lineup during the preseason, it’s humiliating to see Carolina scoring only 23 points in 3 games. We repeat, no matter the lineup.
The Jaguars also looked terrible. Test games they had showed plenty of weaknesses, and the sole hype that keeps the fans anxious before the start of the season is their desire to see the No. 5 pick from this year’s draft, Travis Hunter, who can play both receiver and cornerback.
For Trevor Lawrence, this is the key season for his career. He went 2-8 last year in 10 games, having 11 touchdowns and 7 picks. Not good at all. So, either he explodes or becomes mediocre.
Panthers vs. Jaguars Head to Head
The Panthers and the Jags met 8 times, and the record is tied at 4 wins all.
Panthers vs. Jaguars Predictions
We pick the Jaguars to win. They play at home, and their quarterback has more experience and more targets. In our humble opinion, Bryce Young isn’t the starter material, and that’s why we bet on the Jags to triumph.
