Game Preview

Stroud is without WR Stefon Diggs, but he now has veteran Christian Kirk, as well as rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel. But that’s not all. The run game should be much upgraded, as Nick Chubb landed in Texas with the 4th round pick from Mississippi State, Woody Marks.

Meanwhile, the defense remains largely the same, with several additions. Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson Jr. will dominate the edges, and this duo may be the best in the league. Texans’ defense limited the Panthers and the Lions in the preseason to 3 and 7 points, respectively.

When talking about the defense, the Rams potentially have a top 5 defensive team in the NFL. Edge Jared Verse is the 2024 DROY, LB Chris Paul came from Ole Miss, and looks excellent for a 5th rounder, plus the remaining core, DE Fiske or Turner, etc. During the preseason, the Rams conceded 20 points per game, though they delivered when needed.

The attack will be highly dependent on Matt Stafford, who has an aggravated disc and is questionable for this game. Another veteran, Jimmy Garoppolo, is ready to step in and search for WRs – Davante Adams, Tutu Atwell, or Puka Nacua.

Texans vs. Rams Head to Head

There have been only five games between these franchises, and the Rams currently lead, 4-1.

Texans vs. Rams Predictions

Despite what many believe, this is going to be a battle of defenses, and our pick is under 43.5 points. All eyes are pointed to Adams, Stroud, Chubb etc, and the defenses don’t get enough credit, yet they are excellent.
