Game Preview

The Raiders had the chance to beat the Jaguars, but instead, they lost after OT, 30-29. Geno Smith’s two-point pass conversion in overtime failed because Pete Carroll wanted to go all or nothing this time. And it didn’t work.

One of the best rookies this year, RB Ashton Jeanty, had only 42 rushing yards on 13 carries, and the Raiders overall posted 57 yards on the ground. Smith threw 4 TD passes and one pick, for 284 passing yards.

Meanwhile, the Broncos beat Houston in a battle of elite defenses, 18-15. Denver scored a last-second field goal, with Wil Lutz hitting it from 34 yards. The Broncos scored two touchdowns here, one a 30-yard reception by Courtland Sutton and the other a 27-yard reception by RJ Harvey.

On the other side, Sean Payton’s boys held the rivals to only field goals, not allowing them to score a touchdown. The defense had 4 sacks, 7 QB hits, but did not force a single turnover.

Raiders vs. Broncos Head to Head

As said, this is an AFC West rivalry. It saw 131 games, with the Raiders leading the all-time series, 73-56-2. Last year, the Broncos won both games, 34-18 at home and 29-19 on the road.

Raiders vs. Broncos Predictions

If there’s an alternative spread here, we will take the Broncos -6.5. Sure, they will be better by one touchdown at least, but looking at Week 9, we don’t want to risk anything here.
