Falcons vs. Saints Odds
Game Preview
The Atlanta Falcons have plenty to regret in the past few weeks. They lost to the Pats. 24-23, then had two OT defeats, against the Colts and the Panthers. This team plays solid football, yet lacks the luck and experience to secure wins.
Atlanta has one of the best pass defenses in the league, allowing 188 yards through the air per game. They are the 6th in that category in the NFL. They’ll have to play without Michael Penix Jr., who injured his knee, and Kirk Cousins starts in his place.
Meanwhile, the Saints had a week off. After beating the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte 17-7, the team had enough time to rest, recover, and prepare for the Falcons.
New QB Tyler Shough had 282 passing yards for two touchdowns, and he completed 19 of his 27 passing attempts—quite an upgrade compared to Spencer Rattler. His primary targets were Chris Olave with 104 receiving yards and Juwan Johnson with 92, both of whom had a TD reception each.
Falcons vs. Saints Head to Head
In 112 games, both teams posted 56 wins. This is the first meeting of the current season. Last year, the Falcons won at home, 26-24, and the Saints in New Orleans, 20-17.
Falcons vs. Saints Predictions
The last 6 games the Saints played went UNDER, but this one won’t, and here is why. The Falcons’ offense is doing a solid job, and instead of Penix Jr., Cousins is now in, which should bring stability. Meanwhile, the Saints are better on the offensive end as well, due to a switch at the QB position. So, OVER 39.5 points looks realistic.
