Game Preview

Minnesota lost at home to a divisional rival, the Bears, 19-17, with the walk-off field goal, which severely complicated their situation. Now they have to beat Green Bay, otherwise, the playoffs are out of the picture. After a solid start, this unit is 1-4 in the past 5 contests.

JJ McCarthy was mediocre with 150 passing yards, one touchdown pass, and two interceptions. His underachieving performance wasn’t without consequences, and frustration among his teammates was evident, as seen when Justin Jefferson lost his temper on the sidelines following one poor play.

Meanwhile, the Packers beat the Giants in New York, 27-20, much tougher than imagined. They had to play without RB Josh Jacobs, who was injured during the game and had to leave. His presence in this game is questionable.

Jordan Love also had an injury issue. Though he came back to throw two TD passes for 174 passing yards. His backup, Malik Willis, had a TD pass as well. The star of the game was Christian Watson with two touchdown catches.

Vikings vs. Packers Head to Head

This will be the 130th matchup between these two teams, and so far, the Packers hold a 66-60-3 edge in the all-time series. Last year, they lost both games against the Vikes, 31-29 at home and 27-25 in Minneapolis.

Vikings vs. Packers Predictions

Minnesota’s QB position is fragile in many ways, no matter who starts. Since McCarthy must play now, and he isn’t looking quite comfortable, we have to pick the Packers to win. Their defense looks good overall, with the main reason for their recent losses being Jordan Love’s mistakes. Now the Packers play at home, on the open field, and that’s something which will most definitely take a toll on McCarthy.
