Texans vs. Chiefs Odds
Game Preview
The Texans have won 4 in a row, and their rivals have been pretty tough. After winning at home against the Jags, they beat the Titans on the road, then the Bills in Houston, and eventually the Colts in Indianapolis last weekend. None of these wins was confident; all were within one possession, but the final result is what counts.
Houston’s defense is rock solid, allowing 16.5 points and 265.7 total yards per game, which is the fewest in the NFL. There isn’t a harder-hitting team in the league than the Texans, and if they had a bit better attack, this unit would be among the Super Bowl candidates.
Now, one of the contenders were the Kansas City Chiefs. And we are saying were, because of their recent performances which are pretty questionable. The three-time champs have lost three in the last 4 meetings, looking rather sluggish. Though, all three defeats came on the road.
Mahomes had 4 TD passes in last week’s loss to the Cowboys, 31-28. His performance was OK, but the rushers failed yet again, providing only 119 yards on the ground, with Mahomes adding 30.
Texans vs. Chiefs Head to Head
The Chiefs lead the all-time series, 11-5, with the last one taking place in the previous playoffs, in the Divisional Game. The Chiefs won that one 23-14.
Texans vs. Chiefs Predictions
Houston comes to town with the intention of winning and taking down one of the direct playoff contenders. The Chiefs play well on the offensive side, but the defense lacks power, yet in this case, the Texans’ offense won’t be too problematic for them. We believe Mahomes has what it takes to break Houston’s defense and that the Chiefs will score more points than their rivals. It would be odd to see either CJ Stroud or Davis Mills winning in KS.
