The 5-8 New York Jets take on the 9-4 Miami Dolphins in this week 15, AFC East divisional matchup. The Dolphins suffered a shock defeat in week 14 but could all but rubber stamp their playoff place with a victory over their divisional rivals here.

Zach Wilson returned from a two game benching to lead the Jets to a comfortable 6-30 victory over an injury hit Houston Texans in week 14. Wilson went 27/36 for 301 yards and two touchdowns, just the third 300+ yard game of his career. The Jets’ big weapons on offense had great games, and their always reliable defense kept a depleted Houston offense stifled. RB Breece Hall saw 10 carries for 40 yards, and 8 receptions for 86 yards with one touchdown. WR Garrett Wilson racked up 108 yards on 9 receptions, and showed how important he is to the Jets’ ability to move the ball downfield.

Two touchdown scoring drives by Tennessee in the final 4 1/2 minutes saw the Titans overturn a 14 point deficit and defeat the Dolphins 28-27. Miami’s offense struggled against a resilient defense, with QB Tua Tagavailoa failing to record a passing touchdown for the first time this season. WR Tyreek Hill suffered an ankle injury during the first quarter of the week 14 loss, and his status remains questionable heading into the weekend.

Prediction

The Jets face a much tougher test here than they did last week, and it is highly unlikely that their defense will have as comfortable ride against Miami. The Dolphins are inconsistent, but they remain one of the most potent offenses in the league. They should have too much for the Jets here, but it may not be as easy as it was for them in week 12 against the same opponents.
