Falcons vs. Vikings Odds
Game Preview
The Falcons lacked experience, which is why they lost to the Buccaneers in the opening round, 23-20. They had more yards, 1st downs, they didn’t turn the ball over, but stayed on the losing side. Young QB Michael Penix Jr. had 298 passing yards for a TD and he ran for one more.
However, the running backs were bad. Tyler Allgeier and Bijan Robinson had 24 rushing yards each in 22 carries combined. If it weren’t for Penix, the ground game would be a total disaster for the Falcons.
J.J. McCarthy struggled to find his groove in the first half in Chicago. But the 10th overall pick from last year’s NFL draft delivered when it counted. The Vikes came back from 17-6 to take the 20-17 lead in less than three minutes, and kept on rolling until the end.
McCarthy had two TD passes and one interception, throwing for 143 yards. However, the 22-year-old also added a rushing touchdown. He played perfectly over the last 15 minutes.
Falcons vs. Vikings Head to Head
The Vikings have 22 wins and the Falcons 12. Last encounter was in 2024, when Minnesota trashed the guests from Georgia 42-21.
Falcons vs. Vikings Predictions
The Atlanta Falcons are a decent team and have a high ceiling, but right now, the Vikings have more experience. Additionally, they have the home-field advantage, where Justin Jefferson and Aaron Jones play exceptionally well. So we take the Minnesota Vikings to win.
