NFL Week 5: Green Bay Packers vs Las Vegas Raiders Odds, and Picks (Oct 9)
- The Packers lost 34-20 to the Lions on Thursday night.
- The Raiders struggled to a 17-24 loss against the Chargers in week 4.
- The Raiders have lost their last 8 games against the Packers.
The 2-2 Green Bay Packers take on the 1-3 Las Vegas Raiders in an exciting week 5 fixture on Monday night.
How To Watch
Green Bay disappointed in their week 4 loss to the Lions on Thursday night. QB Jordan Love was sacked 5 times and threw 2 picks as the Lions’ defense manhandled the Packers’ O-line. The Packers were also unable to establish the running game, as Aaron Jones saw just 20 snaps on his return from a hamstring injury. Jones was limited in practice again this week but should have more impact in a matchup against the Raiders.
During the Raiders’ 17-24 loss to the Chargers, rookie QB Aidan O’Connell had a tough debut. The 25-year-old was sacked 7 times and threw one interception as his offensive line struggled to protect him. However, Josh Jacobs shone brightly, showcasing the star quality he displayed last season. He managed 17 carries for 58 yards and a touchdown, as well as 8 receptions for 81 yards. Jimmy Garoppolo should clear concussion protocol this week and be back under center. Kicker Daniel Carlson will get to take on his younger brother and fellow kicker Anders this week as Green Bay rolls into town.
As a Raiders fan there are no easy games, and predicting wins is a rarity but even so I’m going for one here. The Packers are a decent team, but that 8 year losing streak has to end sometime!
