Game Preview
The Steelers lost the previous four games, not being able to score 17 or more points in either of them. Meanwhile, their rock-solid defense collapsed over the last month, allowing 109 points throughout these four matches.
Apart from forcing 16 turnovers, which is the second-most in the NFL, they aren’t among the top five teams in any of the major defensive categories – sacks, yards per game, etc.
Lamar Jackson is the top candidate for the NFL MVP award. The Ravens QB had 41 touchdowns, with only four interceptions, and has the top QBR in the NFL of 77.5. Additionally, he ran for 915 yards and four touchdowns.
Meanwhile, the Ravens’ heavy run offense has another monster – Derrick Henry. King Henry had 325 snaps this year for 1921 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns. So, even if Zay Flowers isn’t on the field, Baltimore is still the favorite.
Steelers vs. Ravens Head-to-Head
The result this year is 1-1.
In mid-November, the Steelers were better at home 18-16, while the Ravens smashed their rivals in Baltimore 34-17 three weeks ago.
Steelers vs. Ravens Prediction
So even if Flowers isn’t ready, we expect to see Baltimore’s easy win here. They are in much better shape, they play ruthless football, and above all, they have Lamar. Meanwhile, the Steelers are declining. The only constant thing they – defense – fell apart, and they can’t repair it. Russell Wilson and the offense are mediocre; that’s something obvious, and there’s no help there, either. Our prediction is for the Ravens to win and cover the spread.
