The Chicago Blackhawks will be back in action for the second time in three nights in Boston on Tuesday. Chicago put in a creditable display on the opening night of the season, as they pushed the Florida Panthers to their limit.
However, the Blackhawks conceded the crucial winner in the third, and final, period. Frank Nazar and Teuvo Teravainen scored the goals in the defeat for the Blackhawks, with both players ending the night with an assist. Tyler Bertuzzi also registered two assists in the defeat. Spencer Knight made 34 saves from 37 shots in the Chicago goal.
The Boston Bruins will be in action at TD Garden in successive nights at the start of the season, as they come up against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday.
Led by Marco Sturm, the Bruins will be aiming to get back into playoff contention after missing out on the postseason for the first time since 2015-16 last term. Boston have been solid throughout pre-season, winning four of their six matches, which includes dominant recent showings against the Capitals and New York Rangers.
