Game Preview

The Calgary Flames have enjoyed a productive spell in the NHL in recent weeks, winning each of their last three. However, despite that upturn in form, they remain bottom of the Pacific Division standings. They have gone 8-13-3 so far this term, and have been the lowest scorers in the Western Conference.

But, huge positives would have been taken from their latest outing, as they netted five in an excellent showing against the Vancouver Canucks. The Flames scored twice in each of the opening two frames, with Blake Coleman, Connor Zary, and Kevin Bahl all registering goals.

However, this will be a more daunting prospect as they travel to Atlantic Division-leaders, Tampa Bay Lightning. The Lightning have been dominant so far this season, going 13-7-2. Meanwhile, they have recorded victories in each of their last four games.

Tampa’s efficient form was maintained on Monday after claiming a dominant 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Brandon Hagel was among the standout performers in the success, netting two goals and registering one assist.

Flames vs. Lightning Picks

The recent form of the Flames will give them confidence coming into this game on the road. However, it is challenging to overlook the prospects of a home victory based on their dominant performances in recent weeks.
