It has been a mixed season to this point for the Vegas Golden Knights, but they appear to be back on track after winning four of their last ten. Despite an up-and-down start to the campaign, the Golden Knights still sit second in the Pacific Division, and have one of the best defensive records in the Western Conference.
Momentum would have been gained in their latest outing after picking up a hard-fought home win over the New York Rangers. Tomas Hertl was a standout performer after registering two assists, while goals in the win were scored by Shea Theodore, Ben Hutton, and Braeden Bowman.
The increased pressure this week is likely to be on the Utah Mammoth, who have dropped to sixth in the Central Division after losing each of their last three. Their lack of clinical edge has seen them record just two victories over their last ten. Meanwhile, they have lost five times in regulation over the same period.
The Mammoth were last in action against the San Jose Sharks. They fought back excellently to score twice in the final frame to force overtime, but they looked a tired team in the additional period. JJ Peterka was the standout performer after scoring twice.
