It has been an excellent start to life in Seattle for head coach Lane Lambert. The Kraken have avoided defeat in their opening two regular season matches, maintaining the excellent progression that they had shown during the pre-season.
Seattle recorded a 3-1 win over the Ducks on opening night, before holding their nerve against the Vegas Golden Knights over the weekend to register an overtime success. Matty Beniers and Jared McCann were the scorers in the 2-1 win over the Golden Knights on Sunday.
There is also new hope surrounding the Montreal Canadiens this season, as the Habs have gone 2-1-0 across their opening three matches. Despite suffering a defeat at the hands of the Toronto Maple Leafs on the opening night, the Canadiens have since bounced back with successive victories.
Their offensive players have sparkled across that period, with the Habs netting eight in their wins over the Red Wings and Blackhawks. Cole Caufield, Zachary Bolduc, and Kaiden Guhle all scored in the win over Chicago over the weekend.
