Game Preview

Two sides that come into this round of games in solid recent form will collide on December 4. The Carolina Hurricanes have made a reliable start to the season, and they currently lead the way in the Metropolitan Division. Carolina have won 16 of their 25 games this term, and they have also won five of their previous ten.

Recent form also supports their chances this week, as the Canes have won each of their last two. The most recent of those was a hard-fought 1-0 success over the Calgary Flames over the weekend, with Nikolaj Ehlers scoring the only goal of the game in the additional period of overtime.

Meanwhile, there have been improved signs for the Toronto Maple Leafs, as they have moved off the bottom of the Atlantic Division after winning each of their last two. Toronto have now gone 4-4-2 across their last ten to take their overall record to 12-11-3.

Toronto’s latest win was an eye-catching display against the Florida Panthers, beating the reigning Stanley Cup champions 4-1 on the road. Dakota Joshua and Troy Stecher both scored goals in that win.

Maple Leafs vs. Hurricanes Picks

Toronto’s upturn in form will be a positive for their chances this week. However, the in-form hosts could be challenging to bet against after going 8-3-1 at PNC Arena so far in 2025-26.
