Game Preview
It has been a productive start to the new NHL season for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and they currently sit third in the Metropolitan Division. The Penguins made a dream start to the new campaign after registering a 3-0 win over the Rangers, before backing up that success with a second straight win over the Islanders on Friday.
However, for the first time, a response will be expected this week, as Pittsburgh were easily beaten by the Rangers in their latest outing. The Penguins looked defensively weak in that latest outing, as they allowed six goals and scored just once in reply.
The Anaheim Ducks come into this game sitting fifth in the Pacific Division. But confidence would have been gained after bouncing back from an opening night defeat in San Jose over the weekend after registering an overtime success against the Sharks.
The pulsating clash eventually saw the Ducks run out as 7-6 winners. Chris Kreider and Cutter Gauthier both netted two goals apiece in the win, while further efforts were added by Leo Carlsson, Beckett Sennecke, and Alex Killorn.
Penguins vs. Ducks Picks
The Ducks will have to improve defensively if they are to mount a playoff push this season. However, due to their defensive issues, we like the chances of the Penguins getting back on track with a victory on Tuesday.
