Game Preview
Leverkusen rested some of its best players this weekend against Werder, and that came back at them like a boomerang. The game was lost, 0-2. It was the third time in the past five matches that the Bundesliga champs couldn’t win.
Though, the toughest blow for the home team is that Florian Wirtz won’t be playing for them in the rematch. He picked up an injury in the loss to Werder which will probably separate him from the field for some time.
On the other side, Harry Kane was left on the bench against Bochum with several other players, and in the end, Bayern lost too, 2-3. Serge Gnabry missed a penalty, confirming his awful form this year, while Joao Palinha received a red card.
Now, even though the team from Munich has a massive lead, Vincent Kompany’s tactics and leadership are leaving space for doubt and fear among Bayern’s supporters.
Lineups and Injuries
As stated, Wirtz is injured and his chances of playing are minimal. Kossounou and Terrier are out too.
Manu Neuer is out for the guests.
Bayer Leverkusen vs. Bayern Munich Head to Head
Bayern’s win last Wednesday was the first against Leverkusen after six straight matches. Harry Kane netted a brace, and Musiala scored one more goal.
Bayer Leverkusen vs. Bayern Munich Predictions
The hosts have to go all in on this one, while Kompany will close and wait for the counterattack. Still, we believe there’s enough space here for both teams to score over 2.5 goals.
