Game Preview
Following a loss to Botafogo in the first game, Seattle suffered another defeat. This one was against Atletico Madrid, against whom the Sounders failed 1-3. This was the fourth consecutive game in which Seattle allowed two or more goals.
Brian Schmetzer’s crew has an obvious problem in the back line, and even though the offense usually delivers, they can’t cover up the mess created by the defense. Also, the last four meetings all ended with over 2.5 goals.
PSG dominated against Botafogo but ultimately lost. The result was 0-1 for the Brazilian powerhouse, who kept the lead for more than an hour, proving that even the Saints have problems in certain situations.
This has been the first loss for the Champions League winners after 6 straight wins. This was also the first game since early March in which PSG couldn’t score a goal.
