Arne Slot’s future remains a hot topic, as the reigning Premier League champions are enduring a challenging campaign across all competitions. Liverpool have won just four of their last 14 matches across all competitions, and they have won just once across their last four in the league.
Any hopes that Liverpool may be back to their best after a win at West Ham last weekend were quickly dashed on Wednesday, as the toothless champions were held at Anfield by Sunderland. In fact, the Reds were fortunate to steal a point in the closing stages.
It was a contrasting midweek period for Leeds United, as they recorded a much-needed 3-1 win over Chelsea. The success means that the Whites now sit 17th in the standings, and a second straight win could see them go further clear of the relegation places.
It was a welcome performance by Daniel Farke’s side, as they were energetic across the field and they were able to overpower Chelsea in the middle of the park. Another performance of that quality could give them a chance of upsetting the odds on Saturday.
