Match Preview
England remain on course for top spot in the Group C standings in EURO qualification. The Three Lions currently sit six points clear of three teams sitting on seven points, including Italy. England have won four of their five qualifiers this year, and have been perfect in each of their first two home matches.
Across those fixtures, they have recorded wins against Ukraine and North Macedonia, scoring nine goals and failing to concede. England’s only dropped points came in their most recent qualifier, as they were held by Ukraine away from home. But, they quickly bounced back with a 3-1 away win against Scotland.

It has been a testing EURO qualifying campaign for Italy, as they are already on to their second manager following the resignation of Roberto Mancini. However, the Italians will have fond memories of Wembley Stadium, having won a penalty shootout against the Three Lions to capture EURO 2020.
Italy still have a job on their hands to ensure that they are able to defend their title, as they sit second in the standings. However, their game in hand over the weekend against Malta could be critical in their battle against Ukraine and North Macedonia for the second qualifying spot. Defeat at Wembley could see their race go down to a final day shootout against Ukraine on November 20.
England vs Italy Prediction
England was excellent in Naples against Italy earlier in the Group C fixtures, and they have been performing excellently throughout 2023. It appears challenging to overlook that positive form, and the preference is for the Three Lions to land the victory that they require to book their spot at EURO 2024.
