Game Preview
Braga won only once in the past four home meetings, beating Arouca in the domestic championship 1-0. That’s kinda interesting knowing that the home field is their stronghold where they rarely lose.
The Portuguese side beat Betis in the previous round, playing 1-1 at home, but making a memorable triumph in Spain. It was 2-4 for Carlos Vicens’ boys, who played maybe their best game of the year in Seville.
As for Freiburg, the Germans lost last weekend to Dortmund 4-0, but almost all the key players had rested before this event. This is a historic opportunity for the Zebras, who have never reached the international semis.
At one point, Freiburg had 4 wins in a row, but then lost to Stuttgart in the German Cup semis after extra time, before losing to Dortmund. We’ll see if that left any trace on their morale.
