Game Preview
Mexico lost pace in the finish, when Switzerland finally pulled away, leaving the Sombreros in the dust. It was 4-2 for the European team, who deserved to win that one.
The good thing is that Mexico’s offense kept scoring goals, and this even was the 5th in the last 6 in which they netted twice or more. However, the defense was terrible, and that’s something Javier Aguirre has to fix up quickly.
Turkey was stunned in the first minute, allowing a goal. Yet the Lions from Bosphorus managed to recover quickly and turn the result around until halftime. Arda Guler and Kerem Akturkoglu were the scorers, setting the final result already in the 27th minute.
This was the third win in a row for the Turkish team, who had beaten Hungary in the UNL playoffs twice. Additionally, 3 of the past 4 matches they played saw both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals.
