Match Preview
All eyes will be on the top of the Western Conference standings in midweek, as LAFC bid to close the gap on the summit to just a point. The Californian team have two games in hand over the current leaders in the West, and they couldn’t be in much better form after winning each of their last four in the MLS.
LAFC maintained their red-hot sequence of form on Sunday after claiming a deserved 1-0 home success against Atlanta United. They were forced to remain patient in that clash, with their winning goal eventually being scored by Denis Bouanga with just four minutes of the 90 remaining.
Toronto FC have already been eliminated from playoff contention in the Eastern Conference, but they come into this round of matches having avoided defeat in their last eight. Despite that, they are winless across that period, with all fixtures over that sequence ending in draws.
Their remarkable drawing sequence continued over the weekend, as they played out a creditable 2-2 draw against the Chicago Fire. Dorde Mihailovic salvaged a point for the Canadian side in the closing stages after netting a 100th-minute equalizer.
LAFC vs. Toronto Picks
Toronto have been incredibly difficult to beat in recent months, but their lack of offensive quality is costing them the opportunity to win matches. They could be caught out this weekend when they come up against the in-form team in the MLS.
