Game Preview
Inter Miami vs. Nashville SC is a rematch of the 2023 Leagues Cup Final, which Messi & Co. won on penalties after 1-1 in regulation. That game was played in Nashville, but this time, it’s Inter Miami that hosts the match at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
The venue is sold out as everyone wants to see the Messi magic. The soccer GOAT has been fabulous since joining the David Beckham-owned club, leading Inter Miami to the Leagues Cup title. The next thing on the Herons’ agenda is to qualify for the 2023 MLS Playoffs, which is going to be hard, but not impossible.
They’re 11 points behind the closest team from the playoff zone (Chicago FC), but they’ve played two games fewer. That said, they only need to keep on winning, and they’ll make the playoffs.
Actually, the Herons have already started winning in the MLS. In their first post-Leagues Cup game, they defeated the New York Red Bulls 2-0 on the road. What’s interesting is that Messi started that game from the bench, but his teammates managed to score a goal on their own in the first half.
He did get on the pitch in the second half and played his part in Inter Miami’s second goal, which was a true work of art. Sure, Messi was instrumental in that move – he was the one to shove the ball into the net – but his teammates also put on some incredible moves in the lead-up.
At the same time as Inter Miami was destroying the Red Bulls, Atlanta United players were doing the same to Nashville SC. The boys from Georgia completely obliterated their opposition, scoring four goals and allowing none.
Inter Miami vs. Nashville Prediction
In the previous game, Inter Miami showed that this team isn’t a one-man army. The Herons were without Messi for an entire hour but still managed to control the game and even find the net once. Whether the Argentine starts the game on Wednesday or not, we’re 100% sure his team will win again.
