Newcastle and Tottenham will both have their sights set on a European finish this term, meaning that this weekend’s showdown will offer an insightful look at both competitors. The Magpies will have home advantage against Spurs on Sunday, but they come into this showdown after being held to a draw in their most recent outing against Bournemouth last Sunday.
Eddie Howe’s side had to show great character in that fixture, as Anthony Gordon rescued a point in the final ten minutes to maintain their unbeaten start to the new campaign.
