Game Preview
The US team lost 1-2 to Turkey, and even though it was a friendly game, we expected more from Pochettino’s guys. This was the third defeat in a row for the Yanks, who took the lead in the first minute of the game through McGlynn.
Pochettino sent a mixed lineup onto the field, not having players like Pulisic, who is injured, or McKennie, etc., which was evident on the offensive side. The US unit had an initiative, but when it came to execution, things were poor.
On the other hand, Switzerland beat Mexico 2-4. It seemed that the Swiss team was superior in the finish when they broke the Sombreros. Even though Mexico had its chances, the European squad held all the cards.
This was the second win for Switzerland, whose past 6 games had seen goals on both ends of the field. They have not kept a clean sheet in 10 games and counting.
