Game Preview
One of the most interesting playoff clashes in the Winter Olympics is set for Feb 17. Czechia looked like a strong outfit in Group A, despite finishing third.
The nation won one of their three games, and showed excellent offensive quality in their final group game before eventually being beaten by the talented Swiss. Czechia’s defensive record will need to improve if they are to threaten for a medal, as they have allowed 12 goals in their three games.
However, it could be worth noting that five of the goals that they have allowed came in a loss against Canada. Czechia have some proven NHL quality within their ranks, with the Anaheim Ducks duo Lukas Dostal and Radko Gudas likely to be crucial in the team improving their defensive record.
Denmark will be overlooked in the betting for this clash, despite showing a high level of ability in all three of their Group C games. The nation pushed the U.S. to their limit over the weekend, before eventually tiring in the final period of the 6-3 loss.
But, the Danes managed to show their offensive quality in their final group stage game, edging to a 4-2 win over Latvia.
Denmark have been fast starters in their games to this point, netting three of their four efforts against Latvia in the opening frame, and also leading the U.S. after the opening period on Saturday.
Czechia vs. Denmark Picks
Huge confidence can be taken from Denmark’s performances to this point. At the prices, they look like the logical play if able to replicate the high level of performance that they showcased against the U.S. and Latvia over the weekend.
