Leading Indian Wells Contenders
The Indian Wells title is one of the hottest contested in the first half of the calendar year, and a star-studded field will be in action in California this year.
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will likely contest the top choice in the betting, with the former bidding to continue his strong start to the season after winning the Australian Open. The Spaniard has an excellent record at Indian Wells, winning two of the last three editions.
Jack Draper is an interesting contender after returning from injury with some solid performances at the Dubai Tennis Championships in late February. The 24-year-old Brit emerged as a leading world contender after winning the top prize in California last year.
Novak Djokovic is always a hard player to completely rule out. However, the 38-year-old is beginning to look more vulnerable against the brightest young stars on the tour. Despite that, the legendary star has started the season excellently after reaching a Grand Slam final for the first time since 2014 in Australia.
ATP Indian Wells Picks
First-time winners at the highest level have impressive records at Indian Wells. Therefore, there could be an interesting American contender in the form of Ben Shelton. The 23-year-old has reached the semi-finals at two previous Grand Slam events, and he was a winner of an ATP 1000 event in Canada last summer.
