Zverev vs. Alcaraz Odds
Game Preview
Alexander Zverev looks pretty comfortable here in Ohio, where he reached the semis without a set lost. So far, the German has eliminated guys like Basavareddy, Nakashima, Kachanov, and most recently, Ben Shelton, who won the Canadian Open last week.
The No.3 in the ATP rankings was cruel against the American and the home-crowd favorite, beating him 6-2, 6-2, ending the event in only 77 minutes of play. The German had 7 unforced errors, while Shelton committed 16.
On the other hand, Alcaraz had more trouble in the quarterfinals. He was better than Andrey Rublev, 2-1, in sets, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5. Alcaraz’s first serve was 62%, and that’s the reason why he failed to defend both of Rublev’s break chances.
However, Carlitos had broken the rival’s serve on four occasions. What also drew our attention were his 32 unforced errors, which is a sign that he wasn’t that focused.
Zverev vs. Alcaraz Head to Head
Zverev has an upper edge against Alcaraz in head-to-head games, having beaten the Spaniard six times and lost five. Their last match was at the ATP Finals in Turin when Zverev won 2-0.
Zverev vs. Alcaraz Predictions
Zverev is in excellent shape, and he spent less time on the court than Alcaraz did in his last event. That’s why we pick the German to win at least one set here, with the odds currently set at -160.
