Musetti is the new Italian star. He was very good in the Monte Carlo Masters, reaching the finals but losing to Carlos Alcaraz in three sets. After starting a bit slower in Madrid the Italian accelerated.

He was better than Etcheverry in the first round. After that, he beat Stefanos Tsitsipas after two tiebreaks and smashed Alex De Minaur and Gabriel Diallo in straight sets.
