Match Preview
Tiafoe was better than the clay specialist from Spain, Pablo Carreno-Busta, whom he swept in straight sets. It was 6-4, 6-3, 6-1 for the American who spent one hour and 40 minutes on the court.
The first round saw Tiafoe defeat Roman Safiulin in three sets. The Americana was inconsistent since the clay season began, yet, he looks pretty solid in Paris.
Korda had just three victories on clay this year and four losses. He reached the second round in Barcelona, Madrid, and Rome, and that was it. If he beats Tiafoe that will be his best run on clay this year.
The young American defeated Darderi in the opening clash, 3-1, and then eliminated Jenson Brooksby in straight sets. It was 6-1, 6-2, 7-6.
Tiafoe vs. Korda Head to Head
After six head-to-head matches between Tiafoe and Korda, the result is 3-3. Tiafoe won the opening three contests, and after that, Korda posted three triumphs in a row.
Their only clash on clay was in Estoril in 2022, and back then, Tiafoe won 1-2.

Tiafoe looks pretty good so far, while Korda did show some glitches in his game. Overall, Korda has been unable to establish a proper rhythm since the clay season began, and although Tiafoe’s results aren’t significantly better, we believe Frances is going to win this one.
