Preview

One of the main contenders for men’s French Open success is in action under the lights in Paris on Wednesday evening, as Novak Djokovic clashes with Marton Fucsovics. The Serbian looked in excellent form in his first round showdown, as he landed a straight sets victory over Aleksandar Kovacevic. It was a near-faultless display by the former champion, as he made just one double fault.

This is only the second time that Marton Fucsovics has reached the second round at the French Open, while he has never gone further than this stage in any Grand Slam event. It appears incredibly challenging to overlook Djokovic, and we would expect him to claim success in straight sets.

Mayar Sherif vs Anastasia Potapova

Mayar Sherif
Anastasia Potapova

Prop Pick

Anastasia Potapova will be looking to keep her French Open dreams alive on Wednesday, as she is in second-round action against Mayar Sherif on court 12. The Russian is only competing in the second round at the French Open for the second time, having failed to make the main draw 12 months ago. She easily made it through the opening round, with a straight sets win over Taylor Townsend.

Mayar Sherif will be competing in the second round of the French Open for the first time in her career this week, but she boasts a higher win-rate on the clay than any other surface. She was excellent in her opening round showdown against Madison Brengle, and it could be worth siding with the more experienced player on Wednesday.

Caroline Garcia vs Anna Blinkova

Caroline Garcia
Anna Blinkova

Prop Pick

Top-ranked French player Caroline Garcia will be hoping to give home fans something to cheer about on Wednesday. The 29-year-old previously reached the quarterfinals at the Slam in 2017, but she has failed to make it past the second round in three of the previous four editions. Garcia struggled for long periods in the opening round, eventually coming through against Wang Xiyu in the third set.

Blinkova landed a 2-1 win in the second-round clash between the two in 2019, and she looked very strong in the opening round, seeing off Ysaline Bonaventure in straight sets. The Russian looked back to somewhere near her best in Australia earlier this year, and it could be worth siding with history repeating itself on Wednesday.
